These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Youth Rise Recreation ("YRR," "we," "our," or "us") website, online registration services, volunteer applications, donation services, and other online features.
By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website or its online services.
1. About Youth Rise Recreation
Youth Rise Recreation is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for youth through recreation, sporting activities, community events, volunteerism, and community involvement.
Our programs and activities are intended to provide positive experiences that encourage youth participation, personal growth, teamwork, leadership, and connection within the community.
Information provided on this website is intended for general informational and organizational purposes.
2. Website Use
You agree to use the YRR website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not interfere with the operation, security, or accessibility of the website.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or its systems, submit false or misleading information, use the website for fraudulent or unlawful purposes, distribute malicious software, or misuse YRR's content, branding, or intellectual property.

3. Youth Participation and Registration
Certain YRR programs, activities, sporting events, community events, and volunteer opportunities may require advance registration.
Participants and their parents or legal guardians are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted during registration is complete and accurate.
Where a participant is a minor, YRR may require registration, authorization, or consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Additional terms, waivers, consent forms, codes of conduct, emergency information, or program-specific requirements may apply to participation in certain activities.
Registration does not guarantee acceptance or participation. Programs and events may be subject to eligibility requirements, age restrictions, capacity limitations, availability, or other conditions determined by YRR.
4. Parent and Guardian Responsibility
Parents and legal guardians are responsible for reviewing all relevant program information before registering a minor for a YRR activity or event.
By registering a minor, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they are authorized to provide consent on behalf of the participant and that the information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
Parents and guardians are responsible for providing YRR with any information reasonably required to support the safe participation of their child.
5. Activities, Sports and Assumption of Risk
Participation in recreational activities, sporting events, physical activities, community events, outings, and other YRR programs may involve inherent risks.
Depending on the activity, YRR may require participants or their parents or legal guardians to review and sign a separate Participant Waiver, Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability before participation.
These Terms and Conditions do not replace any separate waiver, release, consent form, or participation agreement required by YRR.
Participants are expected to follow all safety instructions, rules, codes of conduct, and directions provided by YRR representatives, volunteers, event organizers, facility operators, coaches, or activity providers.
YRR reserves the right to restrict or discontinue an individual's participation where behaviour presents a safety concern, disrupts an activity, violates program rules, or negatively affects other participants.
6. Program Changes and Cancellations
YRR reserves the right to modify, postpone, relocate, reschedule, or cancel programs, activities, events, or volunteer opportunities due to circumstances including weather, safety concerns, facility availability, insufficient participation, staffing or volunteer availability, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where possible, YRR will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants of significant changes.
Refunds, credits, or transfers, where applicable, will be handled according to the cancellation or refund policy associated with the specific program or event.
7. Volunteer Opportunities
Individuals applying for volunteer opportunities must provide accurate and complete information.
Depending on the volunteer position and the nature of the interaction with youth, volunteers may be required to complete additional screening, training, references, interviews, background screening, or other requirements determined appropriate by YRR.
Submission of a volunteer application does not guarantee acceptance or placement.
YRR reserves the right to accept, decline, suspend, or end a volunteer placement based on organizational needs, suitability, conduct, safety considerations, or failure to comply with YRR policies.
Volunteers are expected to conduct themselves respectfully, professionally, and in accordance with YRR's policies and codes of conduct.
8. Donations
YRR may accept donations through its website or through third-party payment processing services.
Donations are voluntary and will be used to support YRR's mission, programs, activities, operations, and community initiatives, subject to any legally binding restrictions applicable to a particular donation.
Unless otherwise stated or required by law, donations may be non-refundable.
Any representations regarding tax receipts will depend on YRR's applicable registration and legal status. YRR will only issue official charitable donation receipts where it is legally authorized to do so.
Non-profit organizations and registered charities are not necessarily the same under Canadian law, and different tax rules can apply. The Canada Revenue Agency provides separate tax guidance for non-profit organizations.
9. Photography, Video and Media
YRR may photograph or record activities, programs, sporting events, community events, and other organizational activities.
Where appropriate or required, YRR will seek consent before using identifiable photographs or recordings of youth participants for promotional purposes.
Parents and legal guardians may be provided with a separate Photo and Video Consent Release that explains how photographs and recordings may be used.
Consent for promotional photography or video should be treated separately from general participation where appropriate.
YRR may use approved photographs and recordings on its website, social media accounts, printed materials, promotional campaigns, community presentations, fundraising initiatives, reports, and other organizational communications.
Individuals who have questions about the use of an image or who wish to withdraw consent for future uses should contact YRR. Withdrawal of consent may not require YRR to recall or remove materials that were lawfully produced or distributed before the withdrawal, subject to applicable law and YRR's policies.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
YRR respects the privacy of participants, parents, guardians, volunteers, donors, and website visitors.
Personal information collected through this website will be handled in accordance with YRR's Privacy Policy and applicable privacy requirements.
Information may be collected when users register for programs, submit volunteer applications, make donations, contact YRR, subscribe to communications, or otherwise interact with the website.

16. Code of Conduct
Participants, volunteers, parents, guardians, staff, and others involved with YRR are expected to treat one another with dignity and respect.
YRR does not tolerate bullying, harassment, discrimination, threats, violence, or other behaviour that may compromise the safety or well-being of participants, volunteers, staff, or members of the community.
YRR reserves the right to remove an individual from a program, activity, event, or volunteer position where their behaviour violates organizational policies or creates a safety concern.
17. Changes to These Terms
YRR may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our programs, services, website, or legal requirements.
Updated Terms will be posted on this website with a revised "Last Updated" date.
Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
